FPGA - Development Engineer -- Direct Hire -- Harrisburg, PA
Responsible for the Development of New and Evolutionary Derivative Product Configurations for the Fiber Optics Business Unit. Serves as a Technical Resource for Customer Interface in Support Fiber Optic Connector Products. May Serve as Principle Engineer for specific products.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develops New Concepts and Evolutionary Improvements in Electronic Design for Full Range of FOBU Products. Uses LDFSS Tools for Voice Of The Customer Inputs.
• Integrates Optical, Electronic and Interconnect Components in the Design of Optical Communication Systems and Sub-systems.
• Responsible for Product Qualification for Assigned Products.
• Supports Manufacturing in Developing Test Systems and Testing Methodologies.
• Serves as Technical Contact With Customers to Support Product Improvements, Changes, and Problem Resolution.
• Develops and Qualifies Cost-Down Improvements in Electronic Components or Packages.
• May Serve As Principle Engineer for Selected Products

• Development, Product, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering Disciplines to Assist in Resolving Product Performance and Manufacturing Issues and in Transfer of Technologies.
• Product Management and Marketing Personnel for Technical and Business Requirements, Changes, and Improvements.
• Customer Engineering Decision Makers For Requirements, Product Introduction And Improvement
• Industry & Technical Leaders For Technology Opportunities Applicable To The Product Line
REQUIREMENTS:
• B.S. In Electrical Engineering
• Competency in High Speed Electrical Circuit Design with Semiconductor Lasers and Detectors (VCSEL's) is highly desirable. Digital Circuit Design Using PLD and FPGA Devices.
• Proficient in Software Development Using VB.NET or C#.NET.
• Experience with Analytical Software Tools Used to Model Electrical and Thermal Performance of Circuits
• High Speed Printed Circuit Board Layout Experience with PCAD or Similar Software
• Strong Planning Skills - Ability To Work At Project Level While Maintaining Technical Expertise
• Demonstrated Ability to Multi-Task
