Oracle Systems Administrator

Our client is a 100 year old Metals company based in the Chicago suburbs, where they are in the implementation phase of Oracle 11i e-Business Suite. You will be part of a small Oracle 11i Team serving users throughout North America. Apply your skills to all modules of Oracle 11i e-Business Suite, getting broad exposure to all parts of our business and continue to develop your skills through on-the-job and external training.

Founded over one hundred years ago, this company and its affiliates have over 60 operating and sales offices globally. The Oracle Systems Administrator is located at our corporate headquarters located in Franklin Park, IL.

Reporting to the Director of Technology, you will:

• Handle day-to day provisioning of end user accounts, responsibilities, and menus per established SOX policies and procedures.

• Assure that the Oracle e-business application operates effectively during the course of the business day, especially during critical windows such as month-end close.

• Handle all activities related to troubleshooting, recovery, software installation, Oracle failure/error resolution, auditing activities, and resource utilization.

• Assist with patch research and migration.

• Administer/support third-party edge products including Merkur Fax, PC*Miller, SMC Czarlite, and Vertex.

• Maintain and manage daily processing schedules through the Oracle Concurrent Manager.

• Monitor and troubleshoot workflow processes.

• Execute scripts within the Oracle Applications operating environments.

• Assist with E-Business module setups for new business operating units.

• Manage printers.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
• BS in Computer Science or similar field, or equivalent, helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment including the ability to work collaboratively with business users, IT staff, and various levels of management.
• Ability to interface with technical personnel including database and system administrators and application developers.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to investigate problems and to develop/execute appropriate action plans.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment.
• Excellent communication skills including listening and feedback, oral and one on one and group presentation skills, as well as written communication skills, including the ability to write operational procedures and documentation.
• Experience with Oracle DBMS 10g environment, preferably running under Linux.
• Exposure to Oracle development tools and utilities, including SQL*Plus, SQL*Loader, PL/SQL
• 3+ Years Oracle E-Business Suite administration experience (11.5.10.2) in mixed OS environment (Linux,Windows)
• Exposure to and knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance (processes & procedures, testing, IT auditing)
• Working knowledge of IT Systems Development Lifecycle (functional/technical requirements gathering, test plan development & execution, coordination of development-testing activities)
• Good understanding of networking and printer setup: LAN, WAN, TCP/IP.
• Experience with printer setup and troubleshooting.
• Experience with production level 24/7 operations with ability to participate in on-call support or
break/fix/enhancement activities to resolve application issues.
• Understanding of patch procedures.
• Must have 2+ years expertise with SQL and Linux operating system commands, including shell scripting.
• Working knowledge of the following applications desirable: Oracle E-Business Suite (Order Management), Inventory, Warehouse Management; Financial Consolidation.
• Knowledge of any of the following applications a plus: Advanced Pricing for OM, Purchasing, Advanced Pricing for Purchasing, HR, ASCP, Constraint Based Optimization, Global Order Promising, Demantra Demand Planning, Discrete Manufacturing, Quality, Mobile Supply Chain, OTM/gLog, Transportation Operational Planning, AP, AR, Cash Management, GL, i-Payment, Vertex, and Hub), Oracle PL/SQL or SQL*Plus.
