We have an immediate need for several Database Administrators in our Washington D.C. location.
This position offers many shifts! Please indicate which shift you would like apply for:
#1: This position is full-time, four 10-hour overnight shifts, 9:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Weekly schedule will be either Tuesday through Friday or Friday through Monday. The schedule may alternate weekly or bi-weekly.
#2: This position is part-time, Sundays and Mondays, evenings, from 3:00 PM - 1:00 AM (10 hour shifts).
#3: This position is part-time (20 hours), weekend days: 6:00 am - 4:00 pm Saturdays & Sundays.
DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists, defines, and/or oversees database organizations, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation.
- Provides technical consulting in the definition, design, and creation of a database environment.
- Develops applications to help solve database solutions to business problems; data architectures; database management system facilities and capabilities; and the operation and tuning of databases.
- Designs, implements, and maintains databases with respect to access methods; access time; batch processes; device allocation; validation checks; organization; protection and security; documentation; and statistical methods. Includes maintenance of database dictionaries, and integration of systems through database design.
- Maintains and documents shell scripts and batch processes.
- Ensures that documentation is complete and up-to-date.
- Develops and applies procedures for periodic database backup.
- This role will provide support for client databases.
- Help assess/document the status of the database instances, schemas, users and objects as currently installed on different servers and reconfigure if necessary, administrate user accounts.
- The candidate will be responsible for designing, creating, tuning and maintaining multiple databases.
- Along with this primary work, he/she will also be responsible for providing miscellaneous support for other databases whenever required.
- There may be need to do some SQL/PL-SQL development and intermediate level UNIX shell scripting and provide other technical support as required.
REQUIRED: Must be a U.S. Citizen with POT clearance and 3-5 years of experience
REQUIRED SKILLS: Strong analytical and scripting skills
DESIRED: Bachelors Degree in IT or related area
