Business Objects Regional Product Specialist
Key Responsibilities:
• Candidate will provide expert consultancy in all areas of Business Intelligence (Business Objects\Crystal) to internal application development teams
• Candidate will work with IT team members and business users across the organization to increase understanding and adoption of Business Intelligence initiatives
• Candidate will advise on product roadmap in accordance with corporate strategy
• Candidate will architect global deployment meeting all infrastructure, high-availability, and disaster recovery corporate standards
• Candidate will provide subject matter expertise to developers in areas of semantic layer (universe) design, report building, and in customizations using the software development kit (SDK) with Business Objects
• Candidate will be responsible for delivering and maintaining set of best-practice standards to be used by application and support teams
• Candidate will have a deep understanding of BO product settings, tunings, recommended configuration, and support
• Candidate is required to have good communications and interpersonal skills
Responsible for executing or coordinating in the following areas:
• Candidate will be responsible for meeting with application teams and advise on Business Objects tool set and best-practice development
• Candidate will act as third line of support for production deployment of 5000 users
• Candidate will engage with applications in initial requirements evaluation and produce proof-of-concept prototypes when required
• Candidate will technically manage global upgrades and new product releases to existing global deployment, coordinating with both support and engineering teams
• Candidate will perform design reviews at key milestone points in development lifecycle
• Candidate will be able to deliver clear, concise technical specifications to engineering team as part of upgrades and new product releases
Qualifications
Experience and Skills Required/Desired:
Required Work Experience:
- 5 years experience with Business Objects\Crystal tool set
- 4 years experience with Business Objects\Crystal in an application development role
Desirable Work Experience:
- Previous experience in Financial Services
Required Technical/Business Skills and Knowledge:
- Extensive experience developing and deploying both operational reporting and data warehousing solutions
- Extensive experience with both .net and J2EE application development frameworks, specific to software development kit (SDK) for Business Objects
- Experience Defining, documenting and reviewing design & support standards
- Experience with client-server and three-tier web based embedded Business Objects applications
- Extensive knowledge of .Net frameworks and J2EE architectures
- Solid understanding of OS internals - Unix, Linux, Windows
- Extensive knowledge of SQL language and database architectures in both Oracle and SQL Server
Required Education and Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree Bachelors in Computer Science and/or Engineering.
