KEY OBJECTIVE
To provide overall strategic, team development and process leadership to the Claims Technology Program Management Office. This role will play a central role in the overall design and implementation of the Claims Technology Strategy. Accountable for driving the Claims Roadmap and partnering with Claims to support the stabilization of the claims environment and build the foundational capabilities to support future business needs.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work with Claims business partners to solve mutual problems, confirm schedules and adjust project plans to meet unexpected customer, market and technology demands. Establish open communication channels with end-user clients.
• Provides comprehensive consultation to management regarding short and long-term business requirements. Anticipates changes in information management technology.
• Develops and monitors long range information technology plans and policies consistent with strategic objectives
• Develop consistent project management disciplines, which result in on-time, high quality, within budget project delivery. Institutionalize metrics, methodologies, reporting standards and all required project/program management disciplines across the enterprise.
• Monitor compliance with Development and Project Management standards and policies across CIGNA systems and technology programs, including:
? Status
? Budget and schedule
? Value propositions/business cases
? Quality management for major program deliverables
? Change control
? Issues management
• Recruit, motivate and develop a superior staff. Understand existing staff technical competencies, and build employee skill sets based upon technical and business requirements.
• Ensure customer service, high-quality output, timely and cost-effective results and pace-setting productivity.
EXPERIENCE
• The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 10 years experience in planning, organizing and managing large scale, complex business systems and technology programs in a diverse technical environment and able to adapt solutions to complex business situations and strategies.
• A strong leader who has exceptional interpersonal skills. Must be an effective communicator who is comfortable presenting to both business and technical executives. Able to bring understanding and build consensus.
• Able to guide a diverse group of business and technical managers on large-scale transformation programs.
• A decisive, results-oriented manager with strong planning, project management and implementation skills, who has managed multiple large, complex systems integration/application development projects.
• A creative problem solver with a strong project orientation and solid business acumen.
• A quick study who is able to rapidly gain the confidence of the organization -- someone who is capable of structuring mutually winning agreements.
• A technical leader who has a working knowledge of mainframe systems, client/server, relational database and networking products.
• Able to recruit exceptional talent and build a “best-in-class” project/program management unit.
• M.S. or M.B.A. in Information Systems and Technology or related field.
