Our client, an Irvine based distribution company is looking for a Senior BEA/Aqualogic Portal Administrator.
JOB SUMMARY:
Sr. Portal Administrator responsible for supporting, maintaining and enhancing an enterprise-wide portal in a dynamic global environment. Interface with internal business customers to deliver portal enhancements and extend portal capabilities in response to business requirements. May function in a lead role during portal related projects. Additionally, experience in Sharepoint collaborative deployment is highly desired.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for administrating and maintaining a BEA Aqualogic User Interaction Portal (formerly known as Plumtree) in a global environment.
2. Responsible for setting up communities, pages, and portlets in response to medium to large sized Service Requests (projects) from the business. Gather and document business requirements; generate page schematic designs; write design specifications; build/configure portal communities, pages, and portlets; conduct User Acceptance Testing; and deploy portal changes.
3. Responsible for establishing and documenting portal standards.
4. Responsible for establishing content taxonomy.
5. Responsible for setting up and applying security (where portal authentication is done using Microsoft's Active Directory).
6. Responsible for establishing and maintaining Crawlers, Jobs, Web Services, Portlets and other AquaLogic portal objects.
7. Responsible for establishing and maintaining Collaboration projects.
8. Responsible for generating and interpreting AquaLogic Analytic (usage and key word search) reports.
9. Responsible for supporting business Content Managers using EMC's Documentum Web Publisher content management tool.
10. Responsible for maintaining Content Manager training materials.
11. Responsible for facilitating regular Portal User Group meetings.
12. Responsible for addressing and resolving Portal-related Help Desk tickets.
13. Responsible for giving direction to less experienced Portal Administrators.
14. Has technical experience with web tools, applications, scripts, databases and files using a combination of HTML, SQL, JavaScript, ASP, VB.NET, XML, XSL, Perl, SQL Server, Web Publisher or other languages/tools to make business applications web accessible.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in computer science or business administration
· Professional experience of at least eight years in a computer-related field
· Significant experience in the areas of: personal computer desktop applications, including publishing/graphic design, application development, database administration/programming, server administration and network architecture in a production environment using Web technologies, platforms and tools
· Experience administering portals, preferably BEA AquaLogic (formerly known as Plumtree).
· Experience managing large-scale projects in a team-oriented, cross-organizational environment using a standard software development lifecycle (SDLC)
· Eight or more years of application development and/or functional experience

· Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills with the ability to effectively interact with customers, associates and subordinates at all levels of management
· In-depth knowledge of a wide range of Web related technologies, techniques and concepts, and development standards
· Excellent working knowledge of portal administration, preferably with the BEA AquaLogic UI portal (formerly known as Plumtree), including Crawlers, Jobs, Web Services, Portlets, Collaboration and Analytics
· Familiarity with EMC's Documentum Web Publisher (used to manage portal content) or other Content Management Systems or tools
· Excellent working knowledge of Web protocols such as: HTTP, TCP/IP, FTP and Web application programming languages, interfaces and methods such as HTML, CGI, JavaScript, Perl, ASP, VB.NET, XML, XSL and others as needed
· Good understanding of SQL Server database technology, database connectivity, ODBC, stored procedures, and SQL
· Ability to learn and adapt to new Web technologies
