We have an immediate need for a SAN Administrator. This individual will joining a growing team to help manage and support the organization's storage management.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Manage the physical and logical configuration of storage management software to ensure asset availability.
- Gather and analyze performance data to facilitate the optimal use of storage assets and capacity planning.
- Daily monitoring of storage assets and environment to ensure effective operation.
- Basic installation and configuration of enterprise backup software and daily management of disaster recovery processes ( tape rotations, etc) to support mission-critical applications within scope of SOX compliance.
- Participate in storage architecture design, procurement and sizing.
- Participate in the evaluation of new products and technologies.
- Provide 24/7 support in an on-call rotation.
Requirements:
- Associates or Bachelors degree
- 3 plus year of experience with Storage Area Network and Network Attached Storage administration. Experience with iSCSi technologies desired.
- Must have experience with EMC, 3par and Hitachi enterprise and midrange storage arrays, Cisco and Borcade switches / directors
- System administration skills on Window and Unix / Linux environments. Experience with database technologies (Microsoft SQL, Oracle, MySQL).
- Experience with vendor specific and open-source varieties of host based storage utility software to include multipathing, volume management, high-availability clustering and open-source offerings of similar utilities.
- Experience with enterprise backup and recovery applications and tape libraries are required, Symantec Netbackup is preferred.
- Experience with data replication technologies is desired.
