Digital Media Technology Manager
Requirements include:
• Prior experience in Web and other interactive technology development
• Prior hands-on technical experience in Java applications development
• Experience in requirements gathering, use case development, determining business process flow and task mapping to review the team's documentation, and providing guidance as needed
• A thorough understanding of the SDLC and RAD
• Will potentially participate in limited hands-on development if possesses sufficient technical skills
• Must be flexible enough to grasp new platform and paradigms quickly
• Able to think outside the box when necessary
• Must be able to work effectively in structured and non-structured team settings
• 7-10 years experience with internet / new media development
• 5+ years internet / new media development experience with technologies such as Java, J2EE, Oracle, Weblogic, ASP, .Net, Perl, PHP, SQL, Ajax, Ruby-on-Rails, etc.
• 2+ years experience managing staff (either direct reports, project staff, consultants or a mix)
• Must be able to multi-task and yet be detail-oriented
• Requires excellent customer focus and awareness of the customer in a service organization
• Superb interpersonal and communication skills (will interface with various departments and senior management levels, make presentations to an internal audience, interact positively with senior management, and effectively manage a staff of 5+ direct reports
• Strong problem-solving skills, and able to effectively interact with technical and non-technical staff
• Experience creating technical systems documentation and training users in complex topics, and operational procedures.
Note:
We are primarily looking for three things: project management experience, technical background, and entrepreneur with emerging technologies.
Role:
Works closely with the Director of Interactive Technology and is responsible for managing a group of 6 or more application development staff consisting of Software Engineers, Senior Software Engineers, Project Managers, and Senior Business Analysts focused on new business development centered on new and emerging technology platforms (e.g., mobile and wireless, IP-delivered / broadband video, interactive television / OCAP / EBIF, etc.).
The Interactive Technology Group encompasses the client's Web properties, and new business development centered on new and emerging technology platforms as mentioned above. This is a group whose purpose is to work with business partners to identify new and exciting distribution platforms for a variety of award-winning content, and to architect and deliver compelling solutions to enable the continued growth of the client's brands (details on request).
Responsibilities:
• Staff development, including performance evaluations and career development
• Resource allocation and project scheduling
• Insures project success by reviewing project plans, timelines, estimates, and requirements documents, and guiding staff to improvement and greater accuracy
• Overseeing the team's project portfolio and insuring all project teams are meeting timelines, budgets and goals
