Description
Job Summary
This position will provide primary support for the daily operations of our production database systems. And will be responsible for achieving operational support objectives as defined by the company. Support duties will be split between Oracle 10g on Windows and Sql Server 2000 / 2005. Job responsibilities will be to monitor and tune the production database environment for optimal performance. Resolve database issues related to performance, capacity, security, replication, and other distributed data issues. Provide backup and recovery support for all databases. Provide 7/24 oncall support on a rotational basis. Provide expertise to projects teams in developing and maintaining data bases installed with 3rd party vendors and applications developed in-house, implementing data models, database designs, and performing code reviews.
Technical skills/areas include:
•BS degree in computer related field or equivalent experience
•2+ years DBA experience with Oracle 10G on Windows
•5+ years DBA experience with SQL Server 2000 /2005
•Oracle and Sql Server administration and monitoring tools
•Extensive knowledge of Transact SQL
•Strong analytical and problem solving skills
•Effective communication skills in both business and technical areas
•Experience with DTS/ETL
•Knowledge of SQLServer Reporting Services and Analysis Services
