Compensation: Base salaries are open, but we are targeting $75-125,000 depending on skill and experience level. Good benefits. Relocation assistance is available. General: Positions could focus on either hardware-firmware or software-firmware. In any case, strong hands-on coding skills are important, as well as an interest in full lifecycle development. Senior roles will be very hands-on technical and may have accountability for on time delivery of products that meet challenging requirements (features, costs, power, thermal, etc)... planning and scheduling...
Required Skills: Technical bachelors degree with 3+ years and current proficiency in firmware development. C and assembly language hands-on coding. FPGA design and implementation using VHDL or Verilog. Implementation of communications interfaces - protocols like I2C, SPI, PCI, RS232, RS485, USB or Ethernet. Strong debug skills. Use of oscilloscopes and logic analyzers. Commitment to rigorous coding standards, documentation and testing practices. Knowledge of source control systems. Strong interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work efficiently as part of a small development team in an entrepreneurial environment.
Pluses: Graduate degree (EE, CE, Physics). Image processing algorithm implementation. Tortoise source control system. Xilinx tools. Texas Instruments DaVinci Digital Media Processors, digital signal processing and tools. CCD and-or CMOS imagers. Real-time control systems using embedded microprocessors. Firmware in Windows CE and-or Linux OS environments. Driver development for USB, Ethernet, etc. Camera or video applications. C++, OOA/D and GUI development.
