We are looking for an experienced Java developer who will support and extend a major application in our trading infrastructure. The successful candidate should have at least 3 years experience developing and supporting a Java-based application in a fast-paced corporate environment. The candidate must be a strong software developer knowledgeable in Java, J2EE, JBoss, JMS, XML, XSLT, JDBC and Ant. The candidate should also be knowledgeable in standard software practices and tools. This position requires that the candidate is energetic and able to deliver production quality messaging software within tight schedules.
This role requires frequent interaction with software developers, testers, product managers and helpdesk professionals in order to ensure that we deliver a quality-trading platform to our users.
Most important the successful candidate must be a good team player who is able to work professionally and effectively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
Skills/Requirements:
? BS, EE, CS or equivalent experience.
? Experience with Windows, Linux and Solaris.
? 5+ years experience in the IT industry working in the area of product and/or application development.
? 5+ years role as senior Java or J2EE developer required. Preferably on one or more large, highly transactional systems deployed and used in production.
? Strong knowledge in each of the following is required: Java, J2EE technologies, Java Servlets, JSP, Apache Struts, JavaScript, XML, XML Schema, distributed computing, and ANT.
? Good working knowledge on messaging middleware such as JMS, Tibco RV.
? Good working knowledge on RDBMS, SQL92
? Ability to configure and support BEA WebLogic 8.1, JBoss 3.x, and JBoss 4.x is required.
? Good verbal and written communication skills required. Candidate should have a proven track record producing and reviewing use cases, providing estimates, and organizing tasks.
? Strong knowledge and experience in team development using Java.
? Good working knowledge of software testing and building high quality software.
? Experience with Oracle Advanced Queuing is a plus.
? Experience with socket programming is a plus.
? Experience with security packages such as JAAS, SSL, etc. is a plus.
? Experience with software testing tools, regression testing, performance testing is a plus.
? Experience with Open-Source Technologies is a plus, e.g.: Hibernate, Jakarta Commons, Spring Framework, HiveMind, JUnit, Eclipse, JMX and experience with JMX management/monitoring tools is a plus.
? Knowledge of trading environments preferred, although 1 year exposure to financial sector would be a plus.
? Good team player - required.
? Ability to meet deadlines - required.
? Ability to work with architects to carry out design decisions, to work within constraints such as standards, frameworks -- required.
? Ability to work well with business analysts, developers, designers, project management and software testers - required.
? Ability to work with clients, partners, and business to provide integration support - required.
