Experience and Skills
? 5 + years experience of real-time market data distribution systems, such as TIBCO, Reuters, or Wombat. Knowledge of financial industry, stock, or options trading preferred.
? A strong knowledge of UNIX environments (Solaris and Redhat).
? Working experience with Perl and shell scripting.
? A thorough understanding of TCP/IP networking.
? Ability to deal with time critical and industry specific pressure.
? Good problem definition and problem resolution skills.
? Project management/implementation skills.
? Good communication skills.
? Self directed and dependable
Essentials Duties and Responsibilities
? Work with development and infrastructure teams to ensure that our market data infrastructure is prepared for ever climbing data rates.
? Implement testing strategy to quantify changes to the market data environment.
? Data distribution support, to include resolving any Information System related problems with trading systems and data distribution.
? Support of market data and internal feeds; includes working with developers of applications to troubleshoot and resolve issues as required.
? Support development of new applications and their data requirements.
? Assess, design, and implement new data distribution systems as needed
? Perform troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose data latency problems.
? Become familiar with and understand existing network design & implementation.
? Document and maintain critical business systems.
? Work closely with software and data vendors to ensure that we are maintaining a best of class market data infrastructure.
? Implement proactive monitoring strategy to allow electronic trading systems to react to data outages.
