Position Summary:

Critical process and schedule oriented position managing the internal and outsourced development and maintenance of the Publishing web infrastructure of FireSky. Responsible for corporate and publishing web sites, as well as product specific web sites, with each site the core entry point for online game play, registration, purchasing, account management, and many other functions. Works closely with programmers, artists, sound designers, testers and members of the executive team. Shares duties with the Technical Operations unit on the management of various outside vendors, services, and systems. Contributes to formulation of high-level strategic and functional objectives, as well as long- and short-term tactical solutions to meet those objectives. Need to manage time efficiently and work with schedules, milestones and collect feedback from internal and external teams. Assess and manage risk.


Essential Functions of the Position:

• Responsible for working with key stakeholders to manage the look-and-feel, design, functionality, maintenance and troubleshooting of the Publishing division web site(s).
• Identify and resolve conflicts between schedule, budget and design goals
• Accountable for the full scope of content decisions for the company's web site(s) in support of the company's product offerings and the customers who use the products.
• Liaises with different departments to facilitate and drive communication (programming, art, design and business personnel)
• Accountable for functionality of the site, from release on the network, through ongoing expansions, refreshes and updates.
• Works with Technical Operations, Customer Care, and Product Development, as well as Marketing and Technical Support personnel to understand current and upcoming products and to determine site content that is critical to the user experience.
• Manages project resources, assets, staff, schedules and budgets to ensure timely, current and cost effective site development and maintenance.
• Researches and proposes new web site designs, backend/database systems, and applications in support of ongoing additions and improvements of the company's product offering.
• Contributes to web site traffic and usage analyses.
• Shares responsibility for management of external hosting, billing, and other systems, as well as intercommunications with the vendors providing those systems.
• Manages deployment, integration of backend systems, and testing of multiple web sites.
• Works with department leads to determine resources necessary to see projects through to completion
• Identify and resolve design discrepancies and conflict.
• Coordinates, tracks and manages the activities of personnel to ensure that project tasks are completed on time
• Provides motivation and direction to ensure that project goals, objectives, milestones, and deliverables are achieved
• Facilitates team and department meetings to reach decisions effectively
• Assists the VP of Publishing with creative and organizational tasks as necessary and other duties as may be assigned.
• Knowledge of software development process, project management and performance management
• Foster positive working relationship and teamwork within the development teams with an emphasis on communication.
• Maintain close communication with outside developers to ensure they meet contractual requirements.

Minimum Requirements (education, years of experience, specific skills, licenses, certifications):

• Minimum seven years experience in technology development and integration.
• Minimum three years experience in people, process and project management.
• Bachelor's Degree
• Leadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.


• Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
• Experience with employee training and development.
• Strong skills and experience in networks, online applications, database management, and web design.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Expert eye for details.
• Proven ability to work well under pressure of resource and time constraints.
• Able to develop clear, concise project status reports.
• Experience in gaming industry a plus.
