We currently have an excellent opportunity in Global Operations Center in Wheeling, WV for a Network Engineer.
The Network Engineer III will provide Senior level team leadership in the areas of IP Telephony, Video and Data Communications Security, Infrastructure Design, Support and Administration.
DATA COMMUNICATIONS:
• Design, coordinate, implement, support and administrate network security.
• Proactively monitor network traffic utilization. Generate monthly WAN traffic utilization reports. Perform trend analysis and provide Senior level leadership with routing and bandwidth recommendations to optimize performance.
• Design, coordinate, implement, support and administrate network infrastructure. Perform analysis and provide Senior level leadership with improvement recommendations.
• Identify new technologies with potential to advance firm's overall business and practice initiatives.
• Provide project leadership to a team for communications initiatives in accordance with the Firm's Technology Life Cycle which encompasses business need identification, business case development, technical solution design, acquisition/development/implementation and organization enablement.
• Develop, review and update network documentation.
• Design, evaluate and recommend firm-wide network infrastructure standards and strategies to increase reliability and manageability to NOC Manager, and provide instruction to IS personnel.
• Develop relationship with data communications and telecommunications providers and vendors as the primary technical contact.
IP TELEPHONY COMMUNICATIONS:
• Proactively monitor and evaluate Nortel IP Telephony systems performance. Perform traffic studies and provide Senior level leadership with recommendations to optimize performance.
• Design, coordinate, implement, and support Nortel IP Telephony systems and infrastructure, including PBX Switches, Signaling Servers, and Voice Mail Systems and telephone desktop equipment. Perform analysis and provide Senior level leadership with improvement recommendations.
• Identify new technologies with potential to advance firm's overall business and practice initiatives.
• Provide project leadership for voice communications initiatives in accordance with the Firm's Technology Life Cycle which encompasses business need identification, business case development, technical solution design, acquisition/development/implementation and organization enablement.
• Develop, review and update IP Telephony communications documentation.
• Design, evaluate and recommend firm-wide IP Telephony communications infrastructure standards and strategies to increase reliability and manageability to NOC Manager, and provide instruction to IS personnel.
• Develop relationship with communications providers and vendors as the primary technical contact.
VIDEO COMMUNICATIONS:
• Proactively evaluate video conference systems and applications and provide Senior level leadership with improvement recommendations.
• Design, coordinate, implement, and support video conference systems and application solutions to provide on demand rich media communications.
• Identify new technologies with potential to advance firm's overall business and practice initiatives.
• Provide project leadership for video communications initiatives in accordance with the Firm's Technology Life Cycle which encompasses business need identification, business case development, technical solution design, acquisition/development/implementation and organization enablement.
• Develop, review and update video communications documentation.
• Design, evaluate and recommend firm-wide video communications infrastructure standards and strategies to increase reliability and manageability to NOC Manager, and provide instruction to IS personnel.
• Develop relationship with video communications providers and vendors as the primary technical contact.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from recognized college or university; five plus years related experience and/or training.
• Five plus years experience in the areas of IP Telephony, video and data communications design and technical troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with IP Video and On Demand Rich Media Communications
• Knowledge of Cisco devices; VPN concentrators, Cisco PIX/ASA, switches, Layer 3 Catalyst switches, routers and routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP and BGP.
• Knowledge of DMZ access lists and configurations.
• Knowledge of content and Proxy devices including Microsoft ISA, and Bluecoat.
• Knowledge of network monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as sniffers, cable analyzers and SNMP based management tools.
• Proficiency with firewalls, intrusion detection and other security measures.
• Knowledge of PBXs, Voice Mail systems, ACDs and T-1 circuits.
• Experience in the use of desktop and/or server hardware and Microsoft operating systems is required.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory 2003 and Exchange 2003.
• General Proficiency with Windows 2000/2003 server operating systems and utilities is required.
• General proficiency with Windows XP desktop and MS Office 2003 suite of products is required.
