Length of Engagement: 6-18 month Contract
Responsibilities:
Perform general maintenance of the network by troubleshooting and resolving network outages and Manage business system analysts and quality assurance analysts to deliver quality applications and be able to accurately diagnose production problems.
Manage application developers responsible for the development, support and service of warranty applications (Microsoft, J2EE, and technologies in production warranty applications) when dedicated resources are required and staffed by the Warranty Service Center.
Coordinate with other service center that provides development resources that support warranty systems, example Mainframe, Remedy, WBI, etc.
Provide advanced leadership in planning, procuring, designing and implementing the proper technologies to meet the business needs of the company.
Define release plans, projects, produce schedules, and report progress to management.
Establish budget, provide flexible staffing model to meet fluctuating work levels, set priorities and manage resources.
Teach and mentor staff, one on one support, design help and complex debugging assistance, as needed. Set team policies in relation to work activities, off-hour support and communication.
Acquire, maintain, and expand knowledge of relevant product offerings, current support policies and methods of support delivery on company systems, software or hardware.
Manage and oversee support contracts provided by third-party relationships.
Work in partnership with other IT Managers to ensure integrated processes are established to procure development resources and prioritize / schedule work.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
A proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, including MS Project. Familiarity with web based collaboration tools and productivity applications preferred, but not hard requirements.
Professionalism and strong communication skills are essential. Experience communicating with senior management and with multicultural teams is critical.
Must be comfortable working under the pressure of delivering quality results with schedule deadlines and must have a proven track record in meeting schedule for tasks while still meeting or exceeding business requirements and goals.
Must be able to work independently as well as with others to complete tasks, demonstrate initiative, able to self-manage time, work with minimal direction, and be flexible to adapt to changing priorities and direction.
Bachelors Degree in computer science or related field and at least 10 years related experience is required, with at least five years in a managerial/supervisory position within IT. Masters degree in computer science or related field is preferred.
Demonstrated 3 or more years experience managing IT projects is preferred. A thorough understanding of system and/ or application development life cycle is required. A comprehensive knowledge of problem root / cause analysis, structured analysis, and design and programming techniques is required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and a proven ability to work in cross functional/ matrix organization. and a proven ability to translate business needs into technical requirements is preferred. Must have strong people management skills.
