We are searching for a smart, creative Java / J2EE Engineer with strong customer interaction skills and an active TS/SCI clearance (or higher) to join our client's Professional Services Team. In this role, you will perform implementations and customizations of our client's software product suite for government and commercial clients.
Our client works with federal agencies (including DoD and intelligence agencies) and large commercial businesses to build and implement software solutions that identify important events that occur in large complex sets of data and then take appropriate actions in response to those events. This is truly a situation in which quality software makes a huge impact.
Your specific responsibilities will include the following:
- Learning the intricacies of the software product suite
- Working to understand each customer's specific requirements
- Work with Product Engineering staff and Professional Services Architects to design and develop customized applications for each client
- Implement the customized software at client sites
- Troubleshoot and support client implementations
- Be willing to do whatever it takes to satisfy the customer's needs
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
- TS/SCI clearance (or higher)
- B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline
- 3+ years of strong experience working with Java, XML, and J2EE technologies
- Strong customer-facing skills and experience working on client sites
- A creative, problem-solving approach to technical work and a strong attention to detail
- An ability to work in a fast-paced environment where specific engagements and customer sites change on a regular basis
- An ability to work in a collaborative, idea-generating environment where egos do not get in the way of solving problems
Ideally, candidates will have experience working in a professional services group of a commercial software product company, doing similar work to what is described here.
