POSITION OVERVIEW:
Our client is a technology startup firm which provides application software and associated services to the financial industry, with a focus on Mobile Payments.
They are seeking top candidates for the position of “Hands-On” Project Manager. The position is of prime importance to the company; the selected candidate will be responsible for delivering client implementation projects to clients on time, within budget and according to customer requirements. The Project Manager will work with the operations team to develop a detailed project management plan that is consistent with the proposed objectives, while following defined project methodology.
Working from their Head Office in Toronto, the position will require frequent international travel up to 25% of time potentially two weeks at a time.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Guide and direct team members in partner and financial services client organizations through the establishment and implementation of plans, procedures, and controls that will assure success of program goals and objectives.
- Accountable for overall quality and timeliness of project deliverables in direct and indirect implementations.
- Develop and maintain project charter, procedures, plans and documented processes.
- Facilitate customer meetings and teleconferences.
- Maintain regular and effective client communications.
- Meet agreed upon client deliverable schedules and manages client expectations.
- Manage multiple project/tasks simultaneously, measure success based on quality, high degree of customer satisfaction, meeting dates and exceeding customer expectations.
- Maintain positive employee relationships and communication with a diverse project team, supporting a work culture of employee involvement and empowerment.
- Work with sales and marketing team in developing and coordinating proposal content.
REQUIREMENTS:
Skills Required:
- Project tracking, negotiating budgets, coordination of resources and ability to adjust timeliness to meet the milestone identified for success.
- Participate in client requirement reviews, mediate issues, assess and present conclusions, and participate in the problem solving process.
- Able to work with clients at all executive levels to define business processes and provide advice including business process improvement.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- PMP designation desirable.
- At least 2 years hands on experience in an IT project management role. preferably in the financial services industry.
- Experience or knowledge in implementing mobile commerce solutions.
- Basic knowledge of telecommunications industry and mobile applications.
- Experience working with channel partners or third party integrators.
- Excellent verbal, written communication and facilitation expertise with demonstrated leadership.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with proven experience in customer. relationship, understanding business priorities and determining project requirements.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Proficient in developing and implementing strategic plans.
- Ability to build and maintain strong account relationship.
- Ability to influence, partner and negotiate.
