Position Overview
TP Systems Ltd. is a technology consulting firm, providing business solutions to both the private and public sector for over 30 years.

Our client is seeking a Project Manger for there IS Department. The Project Manager is accountable to the Manager, Technology Services for projects, service and support of technology Operations and Help Desk environment.


Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct departmental supervisory responsibilities, which includes dealing with staffing issues, recruiting, performance reviews, making recommendation to IS management for promotion, transfers and terminations.
Advise management when additional resources are required or when resources are under-utilized, making recommendations for solutions.
Provide technical guidance to Technical Support Desk staff by participating in training and staff development.
Project Lead/Coordinator on large and medium sized projects; monitoring of progress on small projects.
Responsible for the development of the project scope and the plans for new projects.
Create project control documents relevant to project management.
Create, maintain and contribute to the IS standards, processes and policies.
Provide support and guidance to best practices for IT Controls/ Security & Compliance and ITIL practices, including maintenance of relevant procedure documentation.
Responsible for developing and implementing relevant security and compliance procedures and documentation.
Participate or conduct relevant technical walk-through sessions with IS staff.
Actively involved in maintaining and/or improving as necessary, existing Support Service levels.
Actively involved in managing and monitoring the Technical Support Work Queue Requests.
Responsible for Technical Services Problem and Change Management procedures and processes.
Conduct Quality Assurance checks for technical implementations /changes to ensure that these conform to standards, policies and practices.
Work with IS Management to plan and facilitate annual DRP Recovery Tests.
Provide guidance, input and analysis to DRP procedures and methodologies.
Responsible for ensuring DRP documentation and procedures are maintained.
Liaise with vendors and consultants for resources, equipment and /or technical assistance.
Provide regular hours and after hours support function for Technical Services as necessary.
Provide hands-on support to complete Change and/or Service Request tickets.
Provide hands-on support to investigate causes of technical problems and incidents and implement corrective action.

Skills and Experience
15 - 17 years of System Support experience in a client server, mainframe or web environment
A minimum 5 of 7- 10 years in a Technical Team Lead capacity.


Education
Formal education in Computer Science or related program from a recognized university or college.
Attained FLMI designation
