Position Overview
TP Systems Ltd. is a technology consulting firm, providing business solutions to both the private and public sector for over 30 years.
Our client is seeking a Help Desk Support specialist to work out of Vancouver, reporting to the Manager, Technology Services, and taking work directions from Network Administration lead or System Administrator with respect to specific assignments being worked on.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provides first-line problem resolution for client computer-related problems including but not limited to: User login, printer, computer bootup & networking problems and application issues.
Assesses problem severity and alerts impacted areas and routes problems to next level of expertise as required.
Records and acknowledges all requests.
Assigns work to other work groups as agreed and records all major system hardware or software problems, requests for new Software, problems or new requests for telephones and tracking of all open requests for HELP DESK Services.
Performs follow-up with client users when requests have been completed.
Compiles statistics, maintains records, and prepares problem status reports.
Assists other team members meet project targets dates or backlogs
Skills and Experience
4 years of related work experience.
Working knowledge and experience with PC HW & SW and Networking concepts
Extentive knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Outlook 98, and Windows 98
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and complete several concurrent tasks
Strong communication skills both written and verbal
Ability to read and listen effectively to clarify/confirm understanding of issue
Ability to determine the importance/urgency to attribute to a problem when it occurs.
Education
High School with 1 year of relevant technical training
LOMA 1 & 2 or willingness to complete within first year
