We are currently recruiting for a Research and Development Analyst within our head office. Reporting to the Vice President of R&D, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing and managing the development of new and existing software products.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Create and manage the software specification development process through to the approval stage.
•Assign and manage project expenditures over the lifecycle of a project.
•Be responsible for the overall software functionality and quality of released product;
•Perform research with respect to new technologies and customer enhancement requests and apply them to our existing product offering.
•Evaluate the impact of new technologies and enhancements on the product line; provide feedback as to perceived risks and benefits.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS;
•University degree in Math, Science, Computer Science, or equivalent technical experience;
•3-5 years of analysis, design and development experience;
•Understanding of SQL Server and Oracle database management systems;
•Proficient in the understanding of the Windows 2000, XP and Server operating Systems;
•Proficient with the SQL Programming Language;
•Understanding of one Programming Language discipline (i.e. Visual Basic, VBA etc.);
•Understanding of various communication mediums (i.e. serial, TCP/IP, etc.).
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:
•Have strong project management skills
•Be quick thinking with out-of-the-box problem solving skills.
•Possess exceptional communication skills -- written and verbal.
•Work independently and establish own deadlines.
