The candidate for this role has a passion for solving visual communication problems along with the experience of how information and content should be presented most effectively on client-facing Web sites. A large portion of this job is to translate content & end user requirements into compelling user-centered interfaces by taking concepts from flowcharts to wireframes to a polished and provocative visual design and implementation. This candidate should also demonstrate proficiency in developing client-side interactions using XHTML, CSS, XML, Javascript, Flash & Actionscript. The candidate will join a team of developers and designers responsible for interaction design at a large-scale corporate Web site.
Responsibilities include:
• Present complex information in an easy-to-understand manner.
• Study concept, strategy, requirements and content and translate into an effective Web interface.
• Analyze user goals and target audience and craft interactive experience.
• Create visualization of an interface concept in the form of wireframes.
• Create new site elements and features for user interface that support the branding and stylistic needs of the Web site/application.
• Work closely with other Developers/Designers to ensure designs are accurately translated into a Web interface.
• Ongoing site maintenance including maintaining a consistent code base and look/feel across multiple web sites.
• XHTML, XML, XSLT, JavaScript, JSP and CSS development
QUALIFICATIONS CONTINUED:
• 5 years exp in Web design w/strong interactive portfolio.
• Strong working know of design, usability & marketing.
• Extensive experience with multimedia apps - specifically Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator. Flash a plus. Excellent understanding of web browsers & specifications, including style sheets & effective optimization of graphics.
• Detailed knowledge of W3C Web standards.
• Working knowledge of common CSS browser compatibility constraints
QUALIFICATIONS CON'T
• 3 years dev exp w/ XHTML & CSS tableless design.
• Can build from PSD & work with complex CSS.
• 2 years exp with Javascript libraries
• Eager to learn new technologies.
• Can meet tight deadlines/handle multiple projects
