In the 1960s Edwards' Critical Care team worked with cardiologists Jeremy Swan and William Ganz to develop the first homodynamic monitoring system for critically ill patients. The Swan-Ganz products became highly successful and still maintain worldwide leadership position.

This is an exciting position within a newly formed team to explore next generation hemodynamic monitoring devices and build upon Edwards' 50 year track record of medical device innovation. This role will be a high level technical individual contributor focused on Hardware development for Patient Monitoring products from concept to market.

Responsibilities include:
• Develop design requirements, generate design concepts, build prototypes, perform design verification and validation protocols, pre-clinical evaluations, transfer products to manufacturing, and sustain existing products.
• Work closely with project technical team members, internal partners in Marketing, Regulatory, Quality, Manufacturing and other departments as well as external clinician partners in order to achieve project milestones.
• Responsible for technical design, project plans, resource loads, generation of and achievement of milestones, design documentation, Verification & Validation plans and execution.
• External responsibilities include being an integral part of our relationship with OEM design/development and production electronics suppliers.
• Position will also provide technical consulting to the Electronics Service Center in order to problem solve field issues

Our Requirements:

• A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required, MS EE or Engineering Management highly desirable.
• This position requires a minimum of 7-15 years working as an R&D engineer in industry developing hardware.
• Previous experience in Medical Device hardware development is highly desirable. Relevant medical device experience includes, Patient Monitoring, Respiratory Care, Capital Equipment, Pacing, ICD or Neuro Stimulation.
• Exceptional candidates with Aerospace / Avionics or other highly regulated industry experience will be considered.
• Requires a demonstrated ability to work within a fast paced team-oriented environment where initiative, flexibility, and collaborative skills are utilized.
• Must have effective communication skills, including technical writing.
