• Act as the liaison between Regulatory Approval agencies and Siemens Fire Safety project/product activities, including new and revised product submittals to required agencies for testing, approval, and listing.
• Develop and track regulatory approval schedules by working and negotiating with various agencies on behalf of Siemens Fire Safety Division's interests.
• Develop, monitor, track, and manage annual regulatory approval agency finances/budget. Administer and track payments to regulatory approval agencies.
• Manage to maintain current product approval files when received from agency, and have them updated, when necessary, to reflect production changes through required agency re-submittals. Files include, but not limited to, agency temporary and final reports, project correspondence, and project finances.
• Coordinate workflow between regulatory approval agencies and Project and Product managers.
• Report status of submittal activities on monthly basis.
• Support Marketing, Sales, Production, and Quality Assurance personnel to clarify and resolve issues related to regulatory agency listings.
• Review, comment, and inform Siemens Fire Division activities of new and proposed changes to industry standards. Participate, if required, in industry affairs by participating on industry committees, and advise on industry related issues raised by others in the organization.
• Job specific requirements: BS or BA degree. A background, typically 5-8 years and preferably in engineering, of successful experience in working with approval agencies or in engineering, and successful demonstration of specific responsibilities mentioned above. Solid administrative and organization skills. Proficient use of PC, e-mail, word processing, database and spreadsheet applications. Effective communication expertise along with problem skills. Strong interpersonal skills, especially negotiating with regulatory approval agencies and interfacing with Siemens Fire Safety managers and engineers. Preferably Fire Safety industry experience, especially knowledge of UL and NFPA standards/procedures, and knowledge of Siemens Fire Safety products.
