SHORT SCOOP: Degreed or 4 yrs IT exp with 3+ yrs programming in Java, Bourne, PERL, C or Ruby; 2+ yrs querying SQL databases; Linux exp required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Investigates, analyzes, and tests for potential problems
* Tests new applications, programs, and services
* Develops general and specific programs using multiple programming languages (Java, PERL, C, and Ruby on Rails)
* Evaluates potential services and solutions
* Researches and develops potential new services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree -OR- 4 yrs equivalent exp required
* 3+ yrs programming exp
* 2+ yrs programming and querying SQL databases -- preferred
* Expertise in four of the following is required: Java, Bourne Shell, PERL, C, or Ruby on Rails
* Exp in Linux, Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL Server, and MySQL -- strongly preferred
* Expertise in MacOS X and MS Windows -- preferred
* Expertise with a large education-based central IT organization -- preferred.
