Position Summary:
The IBM Services Specialist is responsible for promoting, quoting, and assisting in the closure of all IBM Services offerings. This includes evaluating customer business needs, providing Sales personnel and customers with product advice, and helping the Account Executive to maximize the IBM Services revenue and profitability potential on each sales opportunity.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
* Obtains opportunities to quote on customer requirements
* Follows up on all quotes, proposed contracts and Avnet Services requests within defined guidelines
* Secures orders from existing and potential customers
* Takes ownership of all IBM Services requests, issues, and/or escalations by managing every step of the process from the initial request to completion and/or resolution
* Remains current on product knowledge, technology trends and advancements
* Complying with all Employee Handbook and company procedures
Knowledge and Skills:
* Minimum 2 year s sales/customer service experience
* Demonstrated sales/presentation aptitude
* Ability to effectively interact with and gather information from high-level managers and executives
* Attention to detail
* Problem solving skills
* Ability to multi-tasks and deliver quotes/services on time
* Familiarity with word processing and spreadsheet products
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent formal presentation skills before both small and large groups
Education:
* Bachelor s degree or equivalent industry experience
Physical Requirements:
* Ability to drive automobile under applicable state requirements
Travel:
* Up to 10% travel required
* Air travel capability required
