An internationally acclaimed hotel and casino in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a SQL Database Administrator/Developer to join their IT team. This individual is primarily responsible for assisting Senior DBA's in developing, testing and deploying SQL Server code.
Responsibilities:
• Determine and develop implementation of policies and procedures relating to all SQL database solutions, including system security, license tracking, backup and recovery, growth and performance management and business continuance planning
• Provide system monitoring, problem diagnosis and resolution
• Evaluate and deploy changes on SQL server in development and production environments
• Propose and implement processes for code versioning control and peer review
Skills/Qualifications:
• A minimum of five years of Microsoft SQL server support and operations experience preferably with IGT, Acres, etc. applications
• MS database certification (MCDBA) is preferred
• Account and database security management (SOX)
• SQL reporting services
• Performance tuning skills using multiple toolsets is a must
• Ability to manage large terabyte sized databases
• Previous experience in managing projects effectively and seeing them to completion
• The ability to manage multiple projects
• Solid communication skills
• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
Desired Skills:
• Oracle 10g experience
• Administration in a gaming or hotel environment
• Datawarehouse (Teradata, Cognos reporting)
• Peoplesoft
