This position is ideal for those with broad IT skill sets. The Systems Administrator will be involved in approximately 60% desktop support issues, the other 40% will be “back office” administration oriented work involving networking, telephony, server operations, and internal applications.



Essential Functional Responsibilities:



Provide daily hardware and software support to 100+ end users in a mostly Mac and some PC computing environment. Support responsibilities apply primarily to the sys admin's local userbase, however strong remote support skills are a plus and will be utilized. Supporter will work in conjunction with the desktop support team across all offices to ensure consistent coverage when local support is absent.



Desktop System Administrator must have both solid and timely problem solving skills to ensure minimal downtime during support requests. Excellent written and oral communication skills will be necessary to create and maintain documentation, keep support ticketing system up to date, follow project plans, and complete tasks according to their required dates. Must be team oriented and be able to actively participate and contribute to team oriented goals. Consistently carrying a professional attitude and approach with the user base is crucial and expected.



Desktop Support skills should include, but not limited to experience with:

* Microsoft Windows XP SP2/ Office 2003 and later
* Mac OS X
* Cisco VPN client
* Adobe/ Macromedia Creative Applications
* Excellent customer service and troubleshooting skills.
* Experience with imaging systems.
* Experience with Helpdesk Ticketing System



Desktop Support office hours are between 9 am -- 6 pm, local time. Systems Administrators must be present between these hours. Applicant must not be opposed to a 24 x7 support environment and should have a flexible schedule to accommodate after hours and or weekend maintenance windows.



Work closely with the Server and Network Managers in “back office” areas, including but not limited to:



* Telephone administration: including installation and troubleshooting of IP telephone sets. Experience with Nortel Networks preferred.
* Backup Administration: Exposure to Veritas/Symantec Backup Exec is a strong plus.
* Active Directory


Job Requirements

Qualifications:

* 3+ years experience administering Macintosh's and PC's
* Experience in one or more of NT servers, routers, telephone systems, or application deployment.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills, friendly attitude
* Strong multi-tasking skills
