Position Title: Software Development Manager

The company helps advertisers tap into highly targeted demographics across 50,000+ premium and trusted sites, reaching over 85 million unique users every month. The company serve ads on over one billion pages a day.
Job Description: Senior level software development manager. The position will oversee the ad serving and data services teams.
Reporting to: VP of Engineering
Responsibilities:
• Ensure software design and implementation meet product specifications with regards to features and performance. Guide the development of design specs by leading discussions encouraging team feedback and support. Ensure that the specifications are written without ambiguity, conforming to the technical specification template.
• Work closely with the development operations, and QA teams to reach project goals; provide technical (architectural and design) direction and leadership. Perform code reviews for your team and others within the department.
• Actively mentor development team members; provide team members with support, advice, coaching and guidance where appropriate.
• Ensure quality software development processes are implemented and proper programming and release procedures are adhered to. Actively research and implement tools and processes to enhance team productivity and system quality. Abide by the Company coding specification and modify it when necessary.
• Work closely with the Product Development Team to define and prioritizing product enhancements. Comment on feasibility and effort analysis as appropriate.
• Provide software development time estimates and accurate scheduling.
Required Skills:
• Must be highly organized and detail-oriented
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
• Highly motivated, self-starter with ability to work independently
• Must check your ego at the door and be able to work well in a tight group of enthusiastic engineers
Minimum Qualifications:
• 10+ years experience in software development
• 3+ years experience leading 5-10 person teams
• 5+ years working with RDBMS, preference given to MySQL experience
• 5+ years working on very large scale, distributed systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
• undergraduate degree in applicable field, preferably Computer Science or related field
