The Software Engineer will work with the technical support manager and a project manager to develop and implement project solutions by applying technical skills to satisfy the requirements.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Develop VB and C data processing programs
Write UNIX Shell Scripts
Develop Input Accel data capture processes
Format/Install/Manage SQL databases
Monitor data using batch management and data workflow programs
Configure ICR/OMR data capture software Intelligent character recognition Optical mark recognition
Install software and updates
Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certifications)
Requires a 4 year degree in Computer Science or Engineering
Entry level position, 0 -- 3 years of experience preferred
Prior experience in VB or C/C++ scripting/programming
Basic Unix scripting/programming
Database (SQL, MS Access)
Networking experience preferred

Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills to explain and interpret issues in a tactful, sensitive, yet convincing manner and to explain complex, detailed materials to all levels, managers / employees alike.

Ability to focus and pay close attention to detail
Working Conditions, MENTAL aND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Typically, an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation, and a normal range of temperature and noise level.
Work assignments are diversified. Interpret, comprehend and apply complex material, data and instruction -- prepare, provide and convey diversified information.
Minimal physical effort required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically with less than 10 lbs. (e.g., papers, books, files and small parts, etc.). Moderate dexterity -- regular application of basic skills (calculator, keyboard, hand tools, eye/hand coordination.
