Position Description
Responsible for the analysis, design, programming, debugging and modification of local, network or internet-related computer programs for commercial or end user applications such as materials management, financial management, HRIS or desktop applications products. Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications using current programming language and technologies. Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. May interface with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.
Minimum Requirements
6+ years experience in software engineering
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
Minimum five years of experience in Object oriented software development
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must
Exceptional customer service skills required
Ability to work on a team towards a common goal
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to operate in a fast paced environment
Must be willing to travel up to 15% of the time
Job Duties:
Assist customer/vendors with the design and development of external interfaces to our products
Participates in technical design and code reviews with internal and external customers
Perform unit testing and integration testing
Work closely on a team of Architects, Developers, Q/A, and documentation personnel
Mentors junior programmers in all aspects of software development process
Write software requirement specification documents
Support existing programs and modules
Technical Skills:
Proficient in Java/J2EE - (EJB's, Servlets, JDBC, SOAP)
Knowledge of relational databases and Structured Query Language (SQL)
Experience with Oracle PL/SQL
JUnit, UML
Education
4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
