This project is still in its research stage, so the initial development will be for a proto-type then proceeding to production development. This team is creating a visual tool that sits atop multiple types of indexed databases including SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc. and pulls reports on a variety of parameters. This Developer will be communicating with an Architect and PM for the design of this application, therefore they'll need to be a Sr Consultant who is comfortable working independently and with very little guidance.
Our client is seeking a Senior UI Developer to create rich UI mock-ups and UI components in ASP.NET and ideally Silverlight to consume a web-service that pulls data from multiple database types. Since the calls are abstracted, this resource won't need deep DB development experience, but will need to have a good understanding of how databases manipulate data and be able to write stored procedures and functions. Should have good knowledge of data access techniques with ADO.NET.
The web-service will be developed by the team so connecting to an API is all that's required along with a good understanding of the middle-tier. They may also be making calls to unmanaged code, so experience with C++ is helpful, but not required. Experience with WSE and WCF is highly desired to implement the web-service. Experience with XML is also required.
Must haves:
Senior level Developer with 6+ years industry experience including 3+ years of experience as a UI Developer
4+ years of strong professional web development experience using ASP.NET, AJAX, XML, IIS, SQL Server and JavaScript.
2+ years of solid experience with design and implementation of Web Services
Experience with WSE and WCF is highly desired to implement the web-service.
Thorough understanding of the full Software Development Lifecycle
Team-based development experience and familiarity with source code tools/process, bug tracking, code reviews, and other common development activities.
Demonstrated ability to design and implement high performance, scalable enterprise solutions
Passion to drive quality
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Pluses:
Experience with Silverlight and .NET 3.5 (WCF & WPF) is highly desired
Experience with the MS internal security review process
SOA (Service Oriented Architecture)
T-SQL, SQL 2005
Experience in C/C++ on Windows platforms
Experience with MSBuild and build/deployment automation
