Duties: Responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of the ASE optimizer component. Designs, implements, documents and maintains complex platform-independent security features in Database Management Systems.Provides technical leadership requiring specialized expertise in security technologies. Displays creativity, initiative and sound technical judgment to execute complex tasks. Assignments are focused on implementing broadly defined programs/projects within defined parameters.
Identifies and advocates for new, enhanced or replacement technology to achieve objectives. Serves as the lead on the design and implementation of platform-independent solutions. Trains other engineers on project architecture and technology. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field and 6 years progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the position offered or related position OR a Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field and 5 years experience in the position offered or related positions. Exp/Coursework must include: Highly complex system level code. C/C++, SQL, and database systems. Debug complex problems and work through to fixing the problem (parallel executive of SQL queries, accurate costing of SQL queries based on statistics and selectivity, efficient resource utilization in compiling, optimizing, and executing SQL queries). Write specifications for enhancements and develop unit-level tests
