Position Overview
TP Systems Ltd. is a technology consulting firm, providing business solutions to both the private and public sector for over 30 years.
We are currently seeking a Data warehouse ETL Developer to work out of Burnaby, BC.
Duties and Responsibilities
To develop a MS SQL Server staging database to receive and convert CSV-formatted data received from the DTP to allow users to apply data content quality assurances processes.
To develop an MS SQL Server EDS data warehouse with automated functions to accept data from the data staging area when invoked by authorized users.
Transaction rollback and data restore functions are required to recover from bad dataset entries.
Data integrity checks and balances will be required to protect the data repository from user errors.
To develop an interface between the staging database and the DTP to accommodate the data transfer protocols and mechanisms.
To develop ETL (extract-transform-load) functions into EDS to remap SD data into the database tables.
Development services will include all business analysis and design activities to build the databases (as per standard system development lifecycle methodologies).
Deliverables including full documentation (ERDs, logical and physical data models, data dictionaries, process models, etc).
Skills and Experience
Experience working with ETL development for over 5 years.
Experience with SQL Server 2000 Data Transformation Services DTS
Experience with SQL Server 2005 BI Development Studio BIDS
Experience with SQL Server Integration Services SSIS
