Job Title: Data Quality Analyst
Location: Portland, OR
Type: Contract-to-hire
Contract duration: 6 months

Job responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain the quality of corporate data resident in any of the technical environments, focusing on the production databases but including any other production file systems.
- Provide for methods identify data quality issues within the database and document the source of that data.
- Support developers and DBAs by promoting database changes thru the environments to production.
- This position administers corporate databases with the goal of satisfying business requirements for database availability, reliability, suitability to purpose and cost efficiency.
- Data promotion, monitoring and corrective action, capacity planning and recommendation of efficient solutions.

Job functions:
*Work with the business Subject Matter Experts (60% of the time):
- to analyze the accuracy and quality of data residing in the production databases.
- identify and document the data flows responsible for low quality data.
- Provide that documentation to development and QA for the correction of issues.

*Data Base Support (20% of the time):
- Assist developers and DBAs by promoting database changes through all environments.
- Assist in the setting up, running and monitoring of database backups, recoveries, reorgs, statistics, rebinds and other activities, as needed.

*ETL/ODS Support (20% of the time):
- Work with the developers to build accurate, effective ETL processes for the ODS and data marts. The focus of this is to assure the delivery of high quality data in a timely manner.

Job qualifications:
- Advanced training or 4 years vocational/technical degree in Information Technology preferred. Experience can be substituted for formal training or education.
- 5 years IT experience including 3 years Data Administrator/Database Administration at least 1 year as an Application Developer
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems, communicate clearly, and establish and maintain professional working relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks in a deadline or crisis driven environment.
- Demonstrated service orientation.

Job requirements:
1. Assignments are received in the form of general expectations. Incumbents have considerable freedom to decide on work priorities and procedures. Positions at this level function with minimal supervision.
2. Work regularly calls for making evaluations and solving problems, which could impact others' work or other departments.
3. Incumbents must constantly access one knowledge base or frequently access two or more knowledge bases to complete work assignments.
4. Consistently serve as subject matter expert for a multiple departments or the entire organization.
5. Majority of contacts are non-routine and require considerable discussion or explanation with some negotiation and interpretation.
6. Requires frequent courtesy, diplomacy and respect. Requires a high degree of professionalism and sensitivity for purposes of persuading and gaining consensus.
