Responsibilities will include:
ØCompleting highly visible software development projects, including the design, development, integration, and implementation of complex software systems with new or existing technologies
ØAssisting with lead generation activities, including scoping and estimating work effort, conducting technical feasibility assessments, evaluating new technologies, developing prototypes or proof concepts, etc.
ØSetting architectural direction for assigned pieces, breaking down the project into smaller pieces, developing specifications, and writing code
ØPresenting technical issues, solutions, and project status to senior and executive management, both to business and technical stakeholders
ØServing as an escalation point for technical problems and maintenance and support activities
ØOperating independently and collectively within a team to meet project objectives
Minimum Qualifications:
ØBachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in field
Ø4 or more years of software design and implementation; consulting or professional services experience a plus.
ØTechnically proficient in the following:
oJava (typically on Windows and/or Solaris)
oWeb application servlets (typically running under Tomcat)
oExperience writing object-oriented server side code (ASP, JSP, PHP, etc.) in conjunction with a Content Management System (CMS) or database (DB) store
oCommon delivery protocols including HTTP, SSL, SMTP, UDP, TCP/IP
oGuest-facing application experience
oJDBC or other high-level persistence frameworks; Microsoft SQL Server a plus
ØExperience designing and building applications with an emphasis on performance, scalability, high-reliability and maintainability
ØExperience in working with high-traffic, guest-facing application servers and awareness of security considerations
ØExperience in full life-cycle software development
ØApplicants must be able to work both individually and in a team environment to achieve results in a deadline driven environment.
ØAbility to work on multiple projects and deliver on time according to project schedules.
ØSuccessful delivery of at least one major software development project and one maintenance release.
ØSuperior technical, analytical and problem solving skills demonstrated by an ability to resolve a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways and to select best methods and techniques for solving problems.
ØMust be a self-starter that can drive projects forward with minimal management oversight.
ØA strong sense of drive, ownership, passion and a commitment to the user experience.

ØGood understanding of benefits and constraints of current Internet technologies
ØStrong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate technical issues to a diverse non-technical audience

ØExperience writing technical specifications and driving them through development
