TP Systems Ltd. is a technology consulting firm, providing business solutions to both the private and public sector for over 30 years.
Our client is seeking a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) who reports to the Project Managers for assigned projects. The BSA is a crucial part of the PMO team for consulting with Product Managers and other business units to clarify technology requirements in support of business goals, for accurately analyzing and documenting the requirements, preparing expanded Business Designs, Business Requirements Documents, Logical Data Models and help communicate those requirements to the developers. The BSA will also assist Project Managers, QA Analysts and Technical Analysts in the development, review and on-schedule completion of a variety of project deliverables from different segments of the cross-departmental project team along with the creation and update of Project Management deliverables such as Master Project Plans, Work plans and budgets.
Duties and Responsibilities
Conducts needs assessments sessions with business units to identify operational requirements and to clarify business technology requirements received from other departments.
Develops business and technical designs.
Works with Product Managers to understand and correctly interpret Functional Requirements Documents and use these as a basis for preparing BRD and other detailed specifications for the project team.
Researches and compiles specific information required for presentations, change requests feasibility and cost-benefit analyses and training.
Represents Product Managers and other business stakeholders' interests to the project team during all phases of the systems development life cycle.
Ensures that needs received from business stakeholders are correctly understood and communicated across all components of the project team.
Reviews contractor, vendor and/or project deliverables.
Participates in Standards & Architecture development activities and helps identify opportunities for business and process improvement.
Assists in the ongoing documentation and design of internal operational systems including creation and maintenance of logical data models, data dictionaries, systems specifications and other documents.
Assists in the administration and conduct of PMO operational workflow activities.
Administers time tracking systems, document repositories, generation of operational reports, document lifecycle planning and maintenance of business systems.
Advises and guides management on impact of change to information systems
Skills and Experience
3 -- 5+ years experience as a BSA.
Ability to define the enterprise level data model, architecture and the software development environment.
Understanding of approaches to systems development, integration and implementation including the delivery platform/technical architecture, development tools, techniques and applications.
Ability to develop new data, process or network models as well as to use existing data or network models to meet application development model requirements.
Ability to develop and implement departmental operational plans, work in compliance with policies and to identify, monitor, validate or adjust standards.
In consultation with Project Managers, Developers, QA Team and Business Stakeholders assess, manage and prioritize Change Requests (CRs) and bug reports as part of the overall business design for new releases of software.
Strong oral communication skills are essential with a focus on team building and gaining consensus.
Strong written communications including the ability to write and interpret technical specifications, RFPs, SLAs, business cases, cost-benefit analyses and other documents for both a technical and management audience.
Apply a practical understanding of PMI project management principles including estimation, planning project timelines and milestones, management of involvement in multiple projects, management of change, issues and risk that arise in the course of projects.
Desirable Skills
Specific certifications / training in Business Analysis preferred.
Experience working with security, antispyware and eCommerce software preferred

Education
B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent diploma or work experience.
Post-secondary education in Business or Information Technology (or equivalent).
