Functions:
Lead a small group of software engineers developing network management systems.
Anticipated split of leadership/development: 50/50
Work with software and network engineering management to define and implement requirements.
Document requirements, specifications, system diagrams, attend meetings, and track issues.
Assist with task assignment and code/design review
Work closely with on or off-site development, integration and QA teams.
Design and develop applications using interfaces like SNMP, Telnet/SSH, Web Services, WMI.
Design and develop software for network architectures using firewalls, switches, etc.
Design and develop user interfaces using C#/.NET, HTML, etc.
Troubleshoot system and software problems.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience:
BS Computer Science or equivalent experience.
8 Years software engineering industry experience required.
Experience with commercial software development.
Strong communication/documentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience with leading software development groups
Experience with C#, .NET, C++, or other Microsoft Visual Studio based languages.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Experience with networking protocols and services: TCP, HTTP, SNMP, SSH, etc.
Experience with network hardware/software like firewalls, switches, VPN, routing, etc.
Experience with Windows Server functionality using Active Directory, WMI, etc.
Familiarity with phone system technology (PBX, VoIP) etc.
