SUMMARY:
The Sr. Cognos & Informatica ETL Developer designs and develops ETL processes using Cognos and Informatica, PL/SQL, and other tools. He/she works with application teams to understand and document business requirements and provides input for the design of BI applications.
RESPONSIBILITES:
• Works closely with business users to gather requirements
• Collaborates with other team members to incorporate business requirements into ETL processes
• Designs and develops ETL processes using Informatica, PL/SQL, Cognos, and other tools.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent exp
• 5+ yrs overall exp in an IT or financial role
• 1+ yr data warehousing and ETL exp
• 3+ yrs exp with Cognos 7 framework and report development (Cognos 8 exp a strong plus)
• Familiarity and exp with data modeling
• Exposure to dimensional modeling, Star schemas, and data marts
• Exp with Informatica and strong SQL, MDX, XML, PL/SQL, triggers skills
• Exp with Oracle RDBMS, including daily maintenance and production support in an Oracle environment
• Ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise
• Must be self-motivated, have a strong team orientation, and learn quickly
• Well organized and capable of handling multiple projects and deadlines
• Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Some exp with financial/accounting applications preferred
• Knowledge of SQL Server preferred
• Familiarity with Java and XML preferred.
