Cutting edge company located in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced and creative problem solver who enjoys a variety of technical challenges in UNIX/Linux kernel driver development. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing start-up company that is working on the next generation high performance Ethernet technologies. The Principle Software Engineer will be involved in all phases of the development process. The candidate must have the ability to quickly analyze complex problems, propose efficient and effective solutions, communicate clearly with multi-functional teams, and the ability to follow through with implementation and testing.
The Principle Software Engineer will join a diverse, dynamic and talented software team and will contribute to the cutting-edge development of iSCSI, RDMA, TCP/IP, and related SAN/NAS protocols. The Principle Software Engineer will specify, design, implement, and test multi-threaded applications for existing and new products; assist in debugging Linux and work with the Open Source community for application enhancements.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
• Thorough knowledge of open source projects and alternate platforms on Linux.
• Experience and in-depth knowledge with Linux kernel programming.
• Experience with enterprise storage technologies -- storage arrays, SAN management software, hubs, directors, NAS and network file serving, ISCSI.
• Knowledge of BSD/Unix/Linux internal, file systems, device drivers.
• Knowledge of higher level networking (TCP/IP wire protocols).
• Use of protocol analyzers and sniffers.
• Strong multi-threading and socket programming background.
• Strong C/C++ programming and debugging skills in an embedded system or kernel debugging.
• Experience with ASIC environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
BS or MS in EE/CS with 10+ years of “hands-on” experience, including 5 years developing device drivers, and at least 3 years developing Linux device drivers for high-speed communication devices and\or networking drivers.
