Job Summary
Administers and controls the activities related to data planning and development and the establishment of policies and procedures pertaining to its management, security, maintenance, and utilization. Sets and monitors standards. Advises management on data base concepts and functional capabilities.
Responsibilities
Your primary job responsibilities will include:
o Data Modeling for OLTP and data warehousing applications
o Creating, refreshing and maintaining production /QA/ development databases
o Implementing and maintaining security policy, backup, recovery and DR sites
o Writing monitor and maintenance scripts
o Performance tuning
o Database monitoring and trouble shooting
Qualifications
1. Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science related field with seven plus years of Oracle production / development experience. Preferred qualifications include graduate studies and/or continuing education courses in database administration.
2. Certification/Registration/Licensure
NA
3. Skills or Special Abilities
Technical Skills: (Must haves)
o Oracle 9i, 10gR1, 10gR2, HP-UX, Solaris.
o SQL, PL/SQL and Unix Scripting.
o Logical and Physical data modeling for OLTP, OLAP and data warehousing.
o Database layout design, creation, maintenance, backup, recovery and DB refresh.
o Data replication tool such as Data guard / Streams / Ireflect.
o Database Audit and security
o DR planning, implementation and maintenance
Preferred skills and experience in the following areas:
o RAC implementation and maintenance
o Oracle 10g certification
o Informix
o Sybase
