Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.
Specific Job Description:
Lead a SW team to develop a high-fidelity Flight Simulator. Typical duties include developing the overall SW architecture of the simulator; writing the SDP and defining/applying appropriate SW standards and processes; developing the SW project plan, estimates and milestones; managing the technical, cost, and schedule progress of the SW development effort; supporting HW-SW integration of the Simulator; and interfacing with customers, partners, and suppliers. Travel to installation site will be required. Applicants must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
Candidate should have experience with the development of man-in-the-loop flight simulators, real-time software, and HW-SW integration of flight simulator subsystems.
Candidate must have demonstrated SW project leadership skills and a proven ability to work in a team-oriented environment to achieve long-range goals and objectives. Experience working with a geographically-distributed development team is a plus.
