Major Activities
· Designs, builds, tests and implements new page layouts and components for the group site
· Works extensively with HTML, XHTML, XSLT, AJAX, CAML, XML, JavaScript and DHTML
· Develops in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, Content By Query and Web Parts
· Responsible for search engine optimization and keyword search is working properly through administration of the search “look up” tables.
· Administers and maintains the content matrices
· Responsible for the strategic development and implementations of meta tag data
· Meets with business partners to determine requirements and issues and provide resolutions as needed.
· Provides accurate estimate on work volumes for project manager
· Provides documentation to design/layout, content structure and publishing procedures
· Installs applications for testing on development servers
· Acts as the final point of review to ensure formatting consistency, prior to publication on site.
· Provides service to internal and external clients in a timely, accurate, efficient and responsive manner accounting to agreed upon schedule and client requirements.
· Ensures organization standards are met on web sites
· Provides necessary computer programming/scripting, as required, as it relates to support of web site
· Monitors web site activity and forwards monthly server stats to Web Manager
· Proactively researches and suggests possible server solutions for added efficiencies and services.
· Stays abreast of current technologies both internally, within organization, and externally, by maintaining professional relationships with other web masters.
· Maintains a “customer first” attitude.
· Prioritizes work to meet timelines and business needs of the unit.
Knowledge/Experience/Skills
· Post-secondary diploma/certificate in computer science, or equivalent work experience
· Excellent knowledge of web server technologies, current server- and client-side programming techniques
· Excellent knowledge of knowledge of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (including page layouts, Master pages, content types, site columns etc) SharePoint Designer, XSLT, CAML, XML, Web parts specifically Data view and Content by query, JavaScript, CSS and XHTML
· Proven hands-on project experience
· Excellent knowledge of organization products and procedures
· Strong database skills and understanding of database management
· Good user interface design skills
· Good communication skills, both written and verbal
· Good analytical and problem solving skills
· Good understanding of organization major systems/processes and products
· Ability to work independently and as a team member
· Innovative and self-motivated
· Excellent organizational skills
· Ability to conceptualize
· Flexible and open to change
