POSITION SUMMARY
• Develops, maintains and documents web/game software components.
• Provides training and guidance to technical personnel.
• Interfaces with other organizations to define requirements for new or enhanced generic web engines, supporting software applications and tools that satisfy requirements of multiple organizations.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION
• Requires Bachelor's Degree in engineering discipline or equivalent experience. Computer Science degree is preferred.
• Position requires three to five years of experience in engineering/software development and multimedia development.
• The candidates needs experience programming interactive multimedia content for the web; and experience with multimedia asset development tools for graphics, sound, etc.
• This person should also have experience programming client side web applications.
• Flash development with ActionScript 3.0 working within an object oriented framework.
• Position requires an experienced knowledge of HTML/DHTML and web scripting languages (JavaScript, VBScript, JSP, Perl) or certified experience with similar languages.
• Position requires the ability to master custom tools and interfaces quickly.
• Position also requires an experienced knowledge of the Tea template language for dynamically generated sites as well as a working knowledge of the GoPublish framework.
• The candidate should also possess a working understanding of server side Internet technologies and have a passion for developing children's online and edutainment content.
• This person needs to be a team player that thrives on synergistic team effort.
• Position requires general knowledge of web technologies like browsers, web-servers, database engines (MS-SQL, Oracle, or MySQL) and installers. Familiar with traditional waterfall or newer Scrum/Agile development methodologies.
Additionally, the minimum requirements for this job are:
• An ability to work independently and coordinate with other organizations for requirements gathering and technology and process evangelism purposes.
• Ability to recognize common user requirements and to design or recommend generic software solutions to meet those requirements; as well as an ability to provide guidance to other software engineers.
• Knowledge of web authoring tools such as Macromedia Shockwave and Flash or experience with similar multimedia authoring tools is a must.
SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED:
Mandatory skills include:
• Macromedia Director, versions 8, MX, or MX 2004 with at least 1 year of Lingo programming and Shockwave development.
• Macromedia Flash, versions 5, MX, MX 2004; Ver. 5.0 scripting, Java Client side development, preferably with games.
• Server side experience helpful.
• HTML & JavaScript. CGI scripting (Perl, etc.).
These specific skills are necessary for this position:
• Proficiency with more common server-side web application development language such as Java, EJB, Servlets, SQL, MySQL, C/C++, and PHP.
• Working knowledge of Flash and ActionScript 2.0. Proficiency with web site design via HTML DHTML and JavaScript as well as client technologies
• Candidate must be able to develop from technical specifications Internet(web)applications and/or games that will be provided to our client On-Line subscribers.
The ideal candidate should have
• 5+ years of web development experience.
• 3+ years of interactive game development using FLASH and ACTION SCRIPT development tools.
