The VB6 Developer is responsible for supporting, enhancing, and maintaining our enterprise class SOSKB software system in VB6 with C#.NET.
Applicants must demonstrate experience in software and systems engineering, as well as the ability to effectively prioritize, coordinate and work multiple tasks. Applicant should possess ability and desire to work within a small group of individual contributors.
Applicant should be experienced with software development and maintenance of mission critical enterprise software systems using Visual Studio (Microsoft Visual Basic with C#.NET) and Microsoft SQL Server 2000.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
§ Design, develop, test and implement applications and enhancements using VB6, ASP, C#.Net, ASP.Net and SQL 2000 components.
§ Analyze and resolve systems issues as identified
§ Provide end-user support, specifically in the product administration and product design/technical design areas; and develop functional and technical documentation as needed.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 3-5 years experience with VB 6.0, ASP, VBScript and SQL Server 2000.
Experience with ASP.NET, C#.NET, JavaScript, XML and XSL.
Experience with configuration management and release planning.
Experience developing and enhancing complex application solutions.
Sound technical background with the ability to quickly adapt to the use of new and unfamiliar technologies.
Proficiency in Requirements Definition and client server architectures
Strong query language (T-SQL) skills
Ability to work in a team environment, share technical capabilities to the organization and learn from others.
