Position Description:

This position is a key member of the Configuration Management team and will have shared responsibility for supporting all aspects of Software Configuration Management (SCM) and J2EE applications administration.

Purpose:
-- Serve as an integral member of Configuration Management team responsible for administration of J2EE application servers, administration of third-party applications that comprise system architecture, software build administration, and software source control administration.
-- Work with Architecture group to specify, implement and maintain new technologies introduced to system architecture.
-- Work with software engineers, database administrators, quality assurance staff and project managers to ensure a coordinated approach to processes, procedures and use of technology/tools.

Expectations:
Applications Administration
-- Install, configure and maintain applications that comprise the system architecture. Support Development Staff as they write code for these systems. These Applications currently include IBM WebSphere, SunOne LDAP, Actuate, Tivoli Workload Scheduler, FileNet, Data Junction.

Software Build Administration
-- Ensure all builds for all phases of development, QA testing and production are completed in a timely manner. Assist in resolution of the errors in the build system. Continued refinement and automation of build and release processes.

Source Control/Release Management
-- Maintain and support CVS source control system and related services. Ensure best practices and proper use of source control system followed by all team members.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

Strong working knowledge of Sun Solaris Operating system and basic Unix administration
Strong knowledge of J2EE concepts and practices
Strong knowledge of source control tools. Preferably CVS.
Write and maintain complex Unix shell scripts.
Communicate effectively in written and verbal presentation.
Analyze and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
Work in a team environment as a leader and a contributor.
Prioritize and manage a workload in order to meet deadlines.
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent experience is required

Desired Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

Experience with enterprise web application server platform. Preferably IBM Websphere.
Experience with LDAP servers, preferably SunOne.
Experience with Actuate.
Experience with FileNet.
Experience with Tivoli enterprise products, preferably Workload Scheduler or Monitoring.
Ability to read and write java code.
Familiarity with XML syntax
