MERIDIAN Technology Group is seeking a Senior QA Analyst JW6575 with a minimum of 5+ years quality assurance testing experience. Must have experience on a QA team functionally testing Microsoft Windows applications. Must also have extensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows environments including Windows 2000, XP, and Vista and be proficient with Microsoft Office applications. Working knowledge of Java and Visual Basic required. Experience with relational databases and SQL; web-based application testing; SourceSafe; ClearQuest or other defect tracking software; and Microsoft SQL 2000 and 2005 also required. Ability to analyze functional requirements and then create all of the test ideas/cases necessary to provide 100% test coverage for those requirements. Ability to convert test idea/cases into well written, effective and efficient step-by-step test procedures. Ability to find defects in an application using ad-hoc testing methods and submit clear and precise defect reports written according to team standards. Experience using IBM mainframe applications and Java applications testing preferred. Bachelor's degree or equivalent also preferred.
Primary responsibilities include learning existing and new application functionality, functional testing of the applications, submitting defects and verifying that defects are fixed by developers. Responsible for regression testing on all priority test cases prior to application deployments, documenting any defects and providing timely feedback to development team and business analysts.
The majority of the testing performed is the black box functional testing of a Java thick-client Microsoft Windows application. The application uses a Microsoft SQL Server database and a proprietary vehicle configuration database. The application interfaces with web-based applications that are also part of the system to be tested. The application ultimately delivers information to the corporate mainframe via the web applications.
