Senior Relationship Manager
Functional Mission
To enhance CRD's long-term relationship with our customers through pro-active communications, internal advocacy, and on-going solicitation of feedback regarding our products and services.
Narrative Description
Charles River Development is a rapidly-growing profitable software and services firms whose customers include many of the world's top securities trading firms. The company has reached the stage in its development at which it needs to create a pro-active customer care organization that is distinct from its Implementation Management and Technical Support organizations. The new organization will establish and nurture relationships between Charles River and its customers at all levels in order to improve long-term satisfaction. The lead role will report to the VP of Client Services alongside the Implementation Management, Technical Support, and Professional Services organizations.
Roles/Responsibilities
The incumbent will work with the VP of client services to create this new function within CRD. Near term objectives include:
Defining interfaces and hand-offs between this new function and Implementation Managers, Technical Support, and Product Management
Refining mechanisms to track all aspects of a customer's relationship within CRD and leveraging them to enhance and better forecast the customer relationship
Developing and implementing mechanisms for:
Ø pro-active, outbound communications to existing customers,
Ø solicitation of feedback from customers on CRD's products and services, and
Ø semi-annual third-party customer satisfaction surveys.
Establishing personal contact with every Charles River customer at Project Sponsor/Executive levels (in concert with VP of Client Services). The incumbent and his team will be working with several dozen customers whose operations are global.
Establishing the group as the principal interface with, and internal advocate for, existing ("live") customers for non-technical issues.
Hiring a more junior relationship manager with whom the function's responsibilities will be shared.

Established successful Relationship Management function
Fostered relationships with senior managers in large and small corporations
Negotiated resolutions to difficult relationship issues to the advantage of both customers and employers
Held positions of successive responsibility in technology-oriented organizations
5+ years in the Software industry
5+ years working with Financial Services organizations
Worked in small, growing organizations - can work "hands-on" with customers and internal organizations while building the management infrastructure needed to sustain long-term growth
Able to differentiate and work at strategic and tactical levels simultaneously
Able to multi-task and juggle conflicting priorities
Able to articulate issues, options, and resolutions crisply in writing and verbally
