Summary:
Direct responsibility for the data modeling, creation, implementation, performance, capacity planning, backup/recovery, upgrade, maintenance and support for a large, mission-critical 24x7 MS SQL Servers on Windows O/S and SAN environment.

Job Requirements
• 4 year degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of RDBMS production support for MS SQL server (2000 and 2005 preferred).
• 5-7 years experience in designing, creating and maintaining large, secure, mission-critical RDBMS (Oracle, Sybase, or MS SQL Server).
• 3-4 years Transact-SQL programming language
• Experience leading the design, development and implementation of physical and logical database models. Advanced data modeling skills a must.
• Install, implement, upgrade and maintain MS SQL Server on NT.
• Expert-level experience with stored procedures, as well as a solid understanding of GUI and Internet programming techniques.
• Maintain backup, restore/recovery procedures, monitor performance and tune RDBMS performance.
• Provide support for applications and a large, globally dispersed programming staff.
• Define, develop and enforce database standards, procedures and security.
• Capacity planning, troubleshooting, disaster recovery and optimization experience.
• Maintain entity-relationship diagrams using ERWIN or ER Studio.
• Database replication and data warehouse experience a plus.
• Create/Maintain SSIS packages in SQL 2005
• Administer/Deploy Reporting Services packages
• Supervise and provide direction to other Database Administrators and Architects.

Responsibilities:
• Architect the system wide data environment.
• Communicate data strategy for the enterprise to team members and act as final approval for all database-related modifications.
• Assist developers in formulating
requirements and solutions
• Analyze and monitor performance of servers and work with Infrastructure team members to correct any problems.
• Analyze and enhance existing database objects
• Assist Infrastructure team members in creating an environment of 100% uptime.

Qualifications:
• MCDBA and/or MCSD preferred
• At least 3 years experience in SQL enterprise design
• At least 3 years experience running SQL in a 24x7 environment.
• At least 5 years total SQL server experience.
• At least 1 year practical experience with database replication
• At least 1 year practical experience with SQL 2005 & reporting services
• SQL 2005 Report Builder Modeling experience a plus
• Must be fluent with T-SQL; stored procedures, cursors, triggers and DDL scripting
• Experience configuring and operating SQL server in a clustered environment.
• Proven experience in performance tuning both at the server and the code level.
• Experience in incremental development, schema source control, and versioning.
• SSIS experience in SQL 2005 preferred
• Experience managing/leading a technical team a plus
