GeoLearning, Inc., the leading provider of Managed Learning Services and hosted learning and performance platforms, is seeking an expert level SCM Build Head in a full-time or contract-to-hire capacity that will work closely with multiple geographically distributed development and test teams providing process/framework design, management and support for source code control, code compilation, change set management, and production release management. This person will drive continuous improvement within the organization by living the work, and focusing on increased automation and decreased manual intervention by use of lean continuous integration and continuous test principles as practiced in the worlds of XP/Agile.
Essential Functions:
• Maintain, control and manage multiple concurrent source bases from inception to production and associative defect fix delivery work
• Manage build procedures and implement utilities to automate SCM/CM processes making CM necessary, but invisible.
• Execute batteries of build verification routines pre-, during and post-build routine for package solidarity, stability and systemic congruency
• Manage and track interim, beta and final releases.
• Facilitate handoffs of software and data components to the test team; coordinate with project personnel to resolve build problems/questions.
• Prepare and package software releases to be distributed to test, pre-production and production environments.
• Create and maintain SCM/CM documentation.
• Implement, practice and improve upon continuous integration/continuous test practices practicing a less is more mentality
• Institute continuous integration build methodology including build, check, rebuild thought processes and associated metrics
• Assist, train and support users of configuration management and source control software.
• Ability to facilitate software evolution including developer local environments through integration, system, acceptance and implementation
• Experience with context-driven branch architectures and pull by label build activities
