Explanation for Position:
This position requires a highly motivated individual with strong systems analyst skills. The expectations will be for the individual to take a lead role in establishing the initial project feasibility, scope and definition. This will require interfacing with the various IT teams, the Project Office, and applicable business users. The individual will also be required to code, test, and deploy software. This position will report to an application development manager.
Details of Position:
Project Management: Senior Programmer Analysts are responsible for managing projects and following standard development lifecycle methodologies.
Application Design: Senior Programmer Analysts are responsible for analyzing business processes and designing quality client-server based applications using the UPS-SCS environment to aid in the operation of the business. Design responsibilities for projects may fall to a single developer or a team. In either case, the designer(s) are responsible for all parts of the application design including relational database design, database connectivity, component based middleware objects and the user interfaces.
Application Development: Senior Programmer Analysts will participate in development of applications needed for strategic and tactical objectives.
Application Testing: Programmer Analysts will participate in the establishment of an application testing strategy and detailed test plans.
Management Skills: Ability to Translate Business Processes into Detail Application Design Specs
• Project management and coordination experience
•Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Complete knowledge of the Systems Development Life Cycle.
